Itinerary

Pyramids to Philae

Day 1 Cairo
Take off from UK airport for a 5 hours flight to Cairo. Arrive at Cairo Airport where our representative will meet and assist you claim your baggage and then through customs. You will be transferred to your Hotel for a free evening and overnight.  


Day 2 Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel and depart accompanied by our qualified Egyptologist/guide a fascinating visit to the awe-inspiring Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza, you will be taken back to the time of the ancient Egyptians, and learn about their life and their power in building such amazing structure for their dead pharaohs. You will have lunch in a local restaurant and later on, you will visit the Egyptian museum, the house of over 100,000 ancient Egyptian artefacts. It comprises the collection of the boy king ‘Tutankhamen’ in addition to the famous royal mummies’ room (optional).
Evening at leisure and overnight at your hotel in Cairo. 


Day 3 Cairo/Luxor
Check out from hotel after breakfast and transfer to Cairo airport to catch your domestic flight to Luxor. Transfer to your cruise ship, check-in and lunch on board your Nile Cruise. Depart  the ship after lunch to visit the fascinating site of Karnak in the East bank of Luxor, a complex of monuments that was built over a thousand years by multiple pharaohs. After this visit, you will continue to visit the beautiful temple of Luxor built by Ramses II in the 12th century B.C. You will be back to the ship late in the afternoon and dinner on board.

This evening, you will have a good chance to book an optional visit to the sound and light show at Karnak.

Overnight on board in Luxor.

Day 4 Luxor
Early wake up and breakfast. Hot air balloon at sunrise (Optional).
Today, is an early departure to visit the west bank of Luxor (Valley of the Kings, Hatshipsut temple and the colossi of Memnon, an awesome site that comprises the graveyards and funeral temples of the greatest and most famous kings and queens in ancient Egypt. Back on board at noon for lunch, and Set sailing. Crossing the Esna, lock and continue sailing to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board.in Edfu.


Day 5 Luxor/Edfu
Breakfast and departure for visiting the temple of Edfu. The great temple of the god Horus, that dates back to 237 B.C, the time of Ptolemy III. After the visit, you will return back to the ship for lunch. In the early afternoon, the ship will set sailing to Kom Ombo where you are going to visit the dual temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Sobek and Horares. Sailing to Aswan, dinner on board and overnight Aswan.


Day 6 Aswan
Breakfast and visit the Aswan High Dam which is the largest rock-fill dam in the world, the work started in 1960 and was inaugurated in 1971. You will also visit the beautifully located temple of Isis that once stood upon the Philae island. Back on board for lunch. After lunch, a relaxing felucca sailing trip.

Dinner on board and overnight Aswan.

Day 7 Aswan.

Morning at leisure with a chance for an optional trip to the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel, carved by Ramses the great for himself and his beloved wife Nefertari.

Back to Aswan for lunch on board. The Nubian village tour by motor boat (Optional) is best to be booked for this afternoon.

Dinner on board and overnight in Aswan.


Day 8 Aswan/Edfu
Breakfast and enjoy a full day at leisure, sailing from Aswan to Edfu.

Set sailing at noon to Kom Ombo and lunch on board. Afternoon at leisure and dinner on board.

Overnight Edfu.


Day 9 Edfu/Luxor
Breakfast and sail back to Luxor.
Rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, you will have a good chance to book the Sound and Light show to see the magnificent temples of Karnak at night.

Back for dinner on board and overnight Luxor.


Day 10 Luxor/Cairo
Transfer to Luxor airport to catch your domestic flight back to Cairo. Transfer to your hotel in Cairo and rest of the day at leisure. Lunch and dinner on your own arrangements.

Overnight at your hotel near Cairo airport.  

 

Day 11 Outward flight/Home

Breakfast and check out.

Transfer to Cairo International airport catching your outward flight back to the UK
