Best of Two Seas

Destination - Cairo, Alexandria, Nile Cruise, Luxor/Aswan, Hurghada

Duration - 15 days, 14 nights

Duration Highlights:

An exciting comprehensive program that compromises between the purely leisure travel and the cultural holiday. A highlight of this package is a short stay in the pearl of the Mediterranean, Alexandria. A good chance to visit such glorious city and its Mediterranean charm. A 14 night’s holiday, 4 main cities and the most impressive monuments in the world.
3 nights in Cairo, 2 nights in Alexandria and 4nights Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor. Followed by 5 nights to relax by the Red Sea in Hurghada. You will visit:
Cairo: The pyramids and Sphinx, The Egyptian museum, the citadel and mosque of Mohamed Ali.
Alexandria: The Roman Catacomb, Pompey’s pillar, the Graeco-Roman museum
Cruise: The valley of the kings, Hatshepsut temple and the colossi of Memnon in the west bank of Luxor, and Karnak and Luxor temples in the East bank, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Kitchener’s Island, Philae temple and the high dam.

Day 1 London/Cairo

Take off from Heathrow airport in the afternoon for a 5 hours nonstop flight to Cairo. Arrive at Cairo Airport where Kemetrav representative will meet and assist you through customs and then you claim your baggage. You will be transferred to your Hotel for a free evening and overnight.


Day 2 Cairo

Morning at leisure. Early afternoon, our qualified Egyptologist/guide will pick you up for a fascinating visit to the Egyptian museum, the house of over 100,000 ancient Egyptian artefacts. It comprises the collection of the boy king ‘Tutankhamen’ in addition to the famous royal mummies’ room. Evening at leisure and overnight at your hotel in Cairo.


Day 3 Cairo/Alexandria

After breakfast check out from hotel and take your luggage with you. Our friendly guide will accompany you to the awe-inspiring Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza, you will be taken back to the time of the ancient Egyptians, and learn about their life and their power in building such amazing structure for their dead pharaohs. You will have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, you will have a 2 hours’ drive to Alexandria. Check-in at your hotel and evening at leisure. Overnight Alexandria.


Day 4 Alexandria

This first morning in Alexandria, you will have breakfast depart to visit the landmarks of this beautiful city; the Graeco-Roman museum that displays the glorious age of the Greeks in Egypt through enormous artefacts, and the salvaged antiques from the sea believed to be from Queen Cleopatra’s palace. After this visit, you will see the Roman Catacomb and Pompey’s pillar. Lunch today will be in a local restaurant after your tour, and then back to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Alexandria.


Day 5 Alexandria/Cairo

Wake up and breakfast. Check out and have a bus city tour of Alexandria before driving back to Cairo in the early afternoon. Arriving Cairo and check in at your hotel for an overnight.


Day 6 Cairo/Aswan

Check out after breakfast, and transfer to Cairo airport to catch a short flight to Aswan. If you booked the optional excursion to Abu Simbel, you’ll fly to Abu Simbel first and then fly back to Aswan, where our field co-ordinator will meet you and transfer you to your Nile Cruise ship. After lunch, you will have a relaxing sailing trip around the beautiful islands of the Nile in Aswan and visit to Kitchener’s island. Back on board for teatime. Evening at leisure and overnight aboard the ship in Aswan.

Day 7 Aswan

This morning, you will visit one of the landmarks of the short cruise; the temple of r the goddess Isis, well known as Philae. Also you will have a good chance to see the High Dam, one of Egypt’s most important constructions in its modern history. Back for lunch and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Aswan.


Day 8 Aswan/Esna

Breakfast and early sailing to Kom Ombo in the morning. Visit its temple and back on board and sailing to Edfu. After lunch, departing the ship for the visit of the temple of Horus in Edfu. After the tour, you will spend the rest of the afternoon sailing back to Esna and overnight.


Day 9 Esna/Luxor

Breakfast and sail back to Luxor.

Upon arrival, visit of the west bank of Luxor, the breath taking
Valley of the Kings and the rock-cut temple of Queen Hatshepsut, stopping by the colossi of Memnon on the way back to the ship. Rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, a good chance to book the optional Sound and Light show to see the magnificent temples of Karnak at night.


Day 10 Luxor/Hurghada

Breakfast and check out. Take your luggage with you for the visit of the East bank of Luxor. You will visit the largest building ever built to worship one god, this is the complex of Karnak. You will also visit today the beautiful temple of Luxor that stands very close to the Nile Valley challenging all these forces of destruction throughout its history. After the tour, you will be transfer to Hurghada by road, where you are going to relax by the beautiful Red Sea for the last five days of the holiday.

Day 11 - 14 Hurghada

At leisure

Day 15 Hurghada/London

Breakfast and transfer to Hurghada airport to catch your outward flight to London via Cairo.

The Price Includes:

  • Accommodation in Hotels and Nile Cruise ship as mentioned below.

  • Domestic flights on Egypt Air from Cairo to Aswan and from Hurghada to Cairo, inclusive of all related charges and taxes.

  • Meet and assist and private transfers at each location as stated above.

  • Sightseeing as shown above including the related entrance fees.

  • Private Egyptologist/guide throughout the holiday (apart from Hurghada), however, in rare cases, you might join other English speaking passengers whilst cruising, and follow the English-speaking guide provided by the ship.

The Price Excludes:

  • International flights and related airport taxes.

  • Any optional excursions rather than what indicated in the itinerary above.

  • Any personal consumption; drinks, shopping or any extras not mentioned above.

  • Tipping. We will give you a guide line of who to tip and how much. This is to avoid any disappointment or embarrassment.

  • Entry Visa to Egypt.

Accommodation:

Cairo: 5 stars at Pyramisa Hotel (or similar) for 3 nights on Bed and Breakfast basis

Alexandria: 5 stars at Metropolitan Intercontinental (or similar) for two nights on bed and breakfast basis
Nile Cruise: 5 stars deluxe accommodation aboard the M/S Jazz Royale (or similar) for 4 nights on Full Board basis.

Hurghada: 5 stars deluxe accommodation at the Hilton Plaza (or similar) for 5 nights on All Inclusive basis.

  • We recommend Egypt Air direct flight to Cairo. There is a daily non-stop flight from London Heathrow to Cairo and vice versa.

  • Minor changes might occur without affecting the program, i.e.; the sort of excursions or cruise might be slightly different due to flights, traffic or water level on the Nile or Lake Nasser.
